Sichuan: A powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck China's Sichuan province on Tuesday, just days ahead of the start of the Beijing Olympics.
The quake was centred at a point 50 kilometres north-northwest of Guangyuan in Sichuan, and had a depth of 10 kilometres.
The Sichuan province was one of the worst affected by the devastating quake that shook China in May.
This latest temblor comes only one day after the Olympic torch toured the quake zone, and just days before the Beijing Olympics are due to begin on August 8.
There have not been any reports of casualties so far.
A shallow quake of high magnitude can be significantly damaging.
