Ousted Thai prime minister Thaksin heading to Dubai
Ousted Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has left for Dubai, People Power party spokesman Sakda Kongpetch said on Saturday.
Bangkok: Ousted Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has left for Dubai, People Power party spokesman Sakda Kongpetch said on Saturday.
Kongpetch also told the Bangkok Post that he will visit Shinawatra in the UAE soon.
Britain has revoked the visa of Shinawatra, who has been living there in exile since he was ousted in a coup in 2006.
Meanwhile, Thai newspapers reported on Saturday that Shinawatra has divorced his wife in Hong Kong.
Thaksin and his wife Pojaman Shinawatra, who married in 1976, divorced at the Thai Consul General Office in Hong Kong on Friday, the Nation and Bangkok Post reported.
The stories could not be independently verified with the consulate.
