The South Korean Defense Ministry says North Korea has test-fired three short-range missiles.
Seoul: The South Korean Defense Ministry says North Korea has test-fired three short-range missiles.
A ministry official said that two ground-to-ship missiles were fired from the eastern coastal city of Wonsan on Thursday afternoon.
The official said the North fired a third missile later Thursday from an eastern coastal site but its exact site and the type of a rocket was not immediately known. He spoke on condition of anonymity citing department policy.
Yonhap news agency, citing an unnamed military official, reported all three missiles flew about 100 kilometers and they are KN-01 missiles with a range of up to 160 kilometers.
The missile tests are expected to aggravates already high tensions following Pyongyang's nuclear test in May.
