Pyongyang: North Korea's city of Pyongyang was alive with the tunes of the New York Philharmonic in a historic concert on Tuesday.
Communist North Korea's elite witnessed this eventful display of musical diplomacy, which highlighted American music in the nuclear-armed country that considers the U.S. its mortal enemy.
North Korea's national anthem,“Patriotic Song,'' opened the momentous concert.
The Philharmonic is the first major American cultural group to perform in North Korea. It is also the largest American delegation that has visited the communist nation.
The nations are currently engaged in ongoing negotiations over Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programs and organised the visit out of a period of warming relations between them.
