Myanmar's military junta will postpone to May 24 a constitutional referendum in in areas of Yangon and the Irrawaddy delta, state television reported on Tuesday.
Bangkok: Myanmar's military junta will postpone to May 24 a constitutional referendum in in areas of Yangon and the Irrawaddy delta, state television reported on Tuesday.
The two areas were worst-hit by this weekend's Cyclone Nargis, which left at least 15,000 dead and another 30,000 missing.
The May 10 plebiscite, however, would proceed as planned in the rest of the country.
