Dozens of protestors set fire to a government building in the Kenyan capital as violence related to Decembers disputed presidential election continued.
Nairobi: Dozens of protestors set fire to a government building in the Kenyan capital as violence related to Decembers disputed presidential election continued.
The trouble began when police fired tear gas at a crowd who were throwing stones at them during a memorial service to mark the people killed in the violence so far.
Workers in the building had to crawl through the windows of the building to escape the blaze.
The violence came as Annan became the latest international figure to try to intervene in the standoff between President Mwai Kibaki and opposition candidate Raila Odinga.
Odinga and his Orange Democratic Movement party claim the election was rigged, with EU observers also noting that the election fell short of international standards.
Around 685 people have already been killed in post-election violence since the result was announce at the end of December.
