Kenya's attorney general calls for election probe
Attorney General Amos Wako asks for independent investigation into the country's presidential election.

Nairobi: Kenya's Attorney General has called for an independent investigation into the country's presidential election.
Amos Wako increased the pressure on president Mwai Kibaki by releasing a statement which called for a probe.
It said: "It is necessary ... that a proper tally of the valid certificates returned and confirmed should be undertaken immediately on a priority basis by an agreed and independent person or body."
The news comes just after opposition leader Raila Odinga called off a protest rally in Nairobi's Uhuru Park as police fired tear gas and turned water cannons on his supporters who had gathered there.
Post-election violence has claimed more than 300 lives and forced more than 70,000 people to flee their homes.
Supporters of both sides have accused each other of ethnic cleansing and genocide as the violence turned tribal.
