Nairobi: The mass rally organised by Kenya's opposition party has been postponed until January 8, according to a senior party official.
William Ruto said: "We are calling for a meeting on Tuesday at Uhuru Park."
Raila Odinga's movement had orginally called for a million-man rally Thursday at Nairobi's central Uhuru Park to protest President Mwai Kibaki's re-election last week.
Police have spent Thursday turning people away from attending the rally, using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowds.
