Gunmen attack television station in northern Mexico, no injuries reported

Monterrey, Mexico: Gunmen have attacked a television station in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, spraying the building with bullets and tossing a hand grenade. No injuries have been reported.

Televisa Monterrey TV station director Francisco Cobo says gunmen wearing ski masks and traveling in two pickup trucks arrived at the station late Tuesday and opened fire as the nightly newscast was being broadcast.

Cobo told the daily El Universal newspaper that the gunmen also left a message outside the station that read, "Stop transmitting only about us, also transmit about the narco-officials. This is a warning."

The federal Attorney General's office confirmed Tuesday's attack in a statement and said it would take over the investigation.
