Lagos: Gunmen attacked an oil services vessel near a rig off the coast of Nigeria's restive Niger Delta on Thursday, kidnapping two expatriates and a Nigerian, security sources working in the industry said.
The Oceanic Orion was attacked some 13 nautical miles off the coast of Akwa Ibom state near a crude oil flow station operated by Canada's Addax Petroleum, the sources told Reuters, asking not to be named.
It is the sixth time this year that OML 123, Addax's largest licence area by reserves and production, has been attacked, one of the sources said.
