Greek military helicopter crashes, killing all 3 on board
A military helicopter crashed in northern Greece on Tuesday, killing all three people on board.
Thessaloniki: A military helicopter crashed in northern Greece on Tuesday, killing all three people on board.
Defense Ministry spokesman Anastassios Evangeliou said the Huey UH-1H Greek army helicopter went down in an uninhabited area near Lake Koroneia, some 20 kilometers east of the port city of Thessaloniki.
The helicopter had taken off from the Alexandria military base, approximately 40 kilometres west of Thessaloniki and was en route to a special forces camp near the lake.
The bodies of the three people on board were discovered at the crash site.
The cause of the accident is unclear.
