Tokyo: An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale struck eastern Japan on Wednesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The quake hit at 3:13pm and was felt across Tokyo.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
