China's Hu says Olympics security is top priority
Troops have been mobilised to ensure a safe Beijing Olympics, Chinese President Hu Jintao said.
Beijing: Troops have been mobilised to ensure a safe Beijing Olympics, Chinese President Hu Jintao said.
"Security must take priority," Hu told officials, according to the People's Armed Police news on Tuesday.
The paper also released a "political mobilisation order" to the People's Armed Police troops, telling them to be on alert.
The official warnings come in the wake of anti-Chinese riots and protests in Tibet and nearby provinces to highlight complaints about China's policies on human rights.
