Bangladesh PM's husband dies from heart problems
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's husband, Wajed Mia, has died from heart failure. He was 70.
Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ailing husband, Wajed Mia, has died from heart failure. He was 70.
Dr. Sanowar Hossain says Mia, a retired nuclear scientist, passed away late on Saturday at the private Square Hospital in the capital, Dhaka. Hasina was at his side.
Mia was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit last week to treat complications from heart, kidney, diabetic and respiratory problems. He had undergone heart surgery in Singapore in March.
Mia and Hasina were married in 1968. They have two adult children.
