The unidentified attackers crashed a truck into the station and threw two grenades that also wounded 16 more policemen, the Xinhua news agency repored.
The latest violence in Kashi, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, comes just four days before the start of the Olympic games in Beijing.
A militant group recently claimed responsibility for bombings that killed five people and promised to sabotage the Olympics.
