For someone who left office around 5 pm and usually reached home in Borivili at 6.30 pm, she stayed on at the office to catch the 6.26 local from Churchgate.
"From Bombay Central onwards the train dragged on and we did not why," she told Gulf News.
"And then it came to a stand still at Lower Parel when announcements on the train?s public address system said there was a signal failure and trains would not be running."
"Several male passengers came and helped us to get down from the trains and we all trekked to the road. After we got the news, I managed to inform my husband I was safe but could not contact him for the next three hours."
Safe in her brother's home in Prabhadevi, she has been frantically trying to contact her colleagues who took the earlier trains.
"I just cannot reach them. I am so worried," she said.
