Train in India crushes 16 people to death, including two children
Bodies of victims, including three women and three children, were spotted besides the track by a driver of another train.
Ahmedabad: As many as 16 people were crushed to death under a train in Udhna district on Wednesday night, the Railway police said.
The incident came to light when the driver of a train bound for Surat noticed the bodies on the track; rail authorities and the police reached the spot by 1 am on Thursday morning.
"They were walking on the rail track and had taken the train from Manikpur and were going to Surat. They had got down and were walking on the tracks when they were run over by a train," said Rashesh Pandya, Area Railway Officer.

The driver of train 'Flying Rani', which runs between Surat and Mumbai, immediately informed the authorities of the incident, Railway Police Inspector H.M. Patel told newsmen.
Investigations were on to determine the circumstances under which the accident took place, he added.
