Thousands in India to attend 'funeral' of atom bomb
Over 2,000 students, lawyers and social activists are expected to take part in an anti-nuclear peace march and perform the "funeral" of atom bomb here tomorrow to commemorate Hiroshima Day.

Mumbai: Over 2,000 students, lawyers and social activists are expected to take part in an anti-nuclear peace march and perform the "funeral" of atom bomb on Wednesday to commemorate Hiroshima Day.
"Four young school students shall carry the symbolic coffin of atom bomb on their shoulders and walk a distance of one kilometre to highlight the common masses' plea for a bomb-free world," Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal (BSM) head T.R.K. Somaiya said.
Taking part
Apart from BSM, Hindustani Prachar Sabha, volunteers of National Social Service units of University of Mumbai and SNDT Women's University, school children, mediapersons, representatives of NGOs and others are expected to take part in the "funeral" procession.
Hiroshima Day is observed in many parts of the world with special vigils and peace marches. It is held to commemorate the dropping of the first atomic bomb on the Japanese city on August 6, 1945. Three days later a second bomb fell on the city of Nagasaki.
