Patna: Police say suspected communist rebels have blown up communication towers, rail tracks and a village council office in eastern India on the second day of their protest against an expected government crackdown on their activities.
Neelmani, additional director general of police, says no casualties have been reported in the Monday night attacks in Bihar and Jharkhand states.
Neelmani, who uses one name, said Tuesday nearly 100 suspected insurgents raided a village in Bihar's Munger district and used dynamite to blast the village council office.
He said they also blew up two mobile phone towers in Aurangabad and Gaya districts in Bihar state.
