Indian police have arrested a second man in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old British girl in Goa.
Panjim: Indian police have arrested a second man in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old British girl in Goa.
Placido Carvalho is charged with with rape and murder, senior police official Bosco George said.
Carvalho was one of the men seen with Keeling the night before her body was found, but George declined to describe the other evidence authorities had against him.
Mr Carvalho gave himself up voluntarily to police when they surrounded his lawyer's office in the town of Mapusa on Wednesday evening.
He was in the same bar as Miss Keeling on the night she died.
Carvalho was arrested four days after police arrested
Samsung D'Souza, 29, on rape charges.
Police are already questioning a 28-year-old man who has been remanded in custody for 14 days.
MacKeown's mother is also waiting for a response to a letter she sent to India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after she claimed her daughter's murder was a cover-up.
A murder investigation was launched following a second post-mortem examination, which showed she had been attacked.
Vikram Varma, Fiona MacKeown's lawyer, said he believed a a third arrest would follow shortly.
