Man kills cousin and burns body in furnace

Bhopal: A man in a Madhya Pradesh town killed his cousin, cut his body into parts and burnt them in a furnace at his home, police said on Monday.
Munna Sahu, a resident of the town of Sagar, around 250 km from here, was arrested on Sunday evening. "Sahu suspected his cousin Shankar of having illicit relations with his wife. He killed Shankar on Thursday at the latter's home.
"Sahu then brought the body to his house, cut it into pieces and burnt it in the furnace to destroy evidence," Dinesh Kumar Kaushal, a police official in Sagar, said.
The crime came to light only on Sunday evening when Sahu's neighbours could not bear the foul smell coming from his house and informed the police.
Munna, who made incense sticks to earn a living, first told the police that the cause of the stench was a rat that had jumped into the furnace. But he later broke down and confessed his crime, Kaushal said.
