A Japanese female tourist has allegedly been raped in India's north-western tourist state of Rajasthan, according to a news report on Monday.
New Delhi: A Japanese woman tourist has allegedly been raped in India's north-western tourist state of Rajasthan, according to a news report on Monday.
The NDTV network reported that according to police sources, the alleged crime occurred in a hotel in the state capital of Jaipur on Sunday night.
The victim, whose age is unknown, accused the hotel's security guard of raping her, the report said. She has been sent to a local hospital for medical examination.
The guard has been apprehended for questioning.
This is the fourth instance of a molestation or rape in the tourist destination in the past four months, hurting it's image as a safe vacation spot, NDTV said.
