Furore likely over Pilot's nomination
The Congress party is likely to field young parliamentarian Sachin Pilot from the newly created Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha seat.
New Delhi: The Congress party is likely to field young parliamentarian Sachin Pilot from the newly created Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha seat.
The party's decision to field its candidate from the seat, carved out of Khurja reserved seat during the recent delimitation exercise, is bound to create further tension in ties between the Congress and Samajwadi Party as the two have hit a roadblock over seat-sharing talks.
Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi has created ruffles in the Samajwadi Party ranks by announcing that her party would field a representative of the farmers, with the consent of the family of late Rajesh Pilot, from the Gautam Buddha Nagar seat.
Although Sonia did not announce the party candidate's name, the focus is on Sachin, who will need a new constituency since his Dausa seat has been declared a reserved constituency.
