New Delhi: India and Bangladesh on Tuesday reiterated their support to each other's anti-terror campaign and agreed on sustained cooperation and information-sharing in this regard.
"India and Bangladesh reiterated that the use of the territory of either country would not be allowed for terrorist and criminal activities against the other country and that sustained cooperation and information sharing would be encouraged for the benefit of both countries," a home ministry official said.
This matter was discussed at the ninth meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Working Group on security and border related issues here.
The Indian Government requested Bangladesh to take expeditious action against terrorists and criminals reportedly hiding in its territory.
The Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, a Bangladesh-based terror outfit, has allegedly been responsible for a series of terrorist attacks in India.
