Bus accident in Assam kills at least 12
A bus carrying 19 people veered off the road and dived into a river in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, killing at least 12 people on Sunday.
Guwahati: A bus carrying 19 people veered off the road and dived into a river in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, killing at least 12 people on Sunday.
The bus lost control while crossing a bridge and plunged into a stream in the town of Sonapur . The bus was on route to Guwahati from Silapathar in eastern Assam.
Divers are engaged in a rescue mission to recover any more survivors.
Some reports have said there have been at least 18 fatalities in the accident.
The injured have been taken to a hospital in Guwahati.
