Kabul: A US military spokeswoman says two American troops were killed and four were wounded after an explosion in eastern Afghanistan.
Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker says the blast happened in the eastern Paktika province Saturday. She did not have further details on the nature of the blast.
The deaths come as thousands of U.S. Marines in southern Afghanistan are involved in the biggest U.S. military operation here since the American-led invasion of 2001, trying to cut insurgent supply lines and win over local elders.
