Karzai says Pakistan behind Indian embassy bomb
Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Monday that Pakistani agents were behind the Indian embassy bombing in Kabul last week.
Kabul: Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Monday that Pakistani agents were behind the Indian embassy bombing in Kabul last week.
It is the first time he has directly accused Pakistan of involvement in the July 7 suicide attack that killed 58 people.
Karzai also accused Pakistani agents of the beheading of two Afghans last month, the killing of two women in Afghanistan and 24 people in a suicide bomb on Sunday.
"The killings of people in Afghanistan, the destruction of bridges in Afghanistan...are carried out by Pakistan's intelligence and Pakistan's military departments," Karzai said.
He gave no evidence to back up his accusations but vowed to avenge the death of the two women who were killed.
Karzai said he favoured good ties with Pakistan, but added there were "elements in Pakistan's intelligence and Pakistan's army" who did not want a stable Afghanistan.
