Duststorm: motorists in UAE urged to be cautious

Continued active winds stir dust in open areas, and at times cause low visibility, say forecasters

Gulf News

Motorists in the UAE have been alerted about the possibility of a duststorm during the weekend and urged to drive carefully.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged motorists to reduce speed and exercise caution on the road since the duststorm caused by active winds could reduce visibily.

In a statement on Friday, the NCMS said the continued active winds stir dust in open areas, and at times cause low visibility.

The lowest temperature recorded was 13.6 degree Celsius in Rakna and the highest was 41.3 degree Celsius in Fujairah Airport at 1:57PM.
