Fujairah: Methods of paying traffic fines in Fujairah do not greatly differ from that in other emirates. Motorists from emirates such as Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah can pay through their local Traffic and Licensing Department for fines incurred in Fujairah.
Motorists who incur traffic fines in Fujairah are advised not to pay in Dubai, however, because there is no system link between the Dubai and Fujairah licensing departments. So fines paid in Dubai would not reflect in the Fujairah system.
The Traffic and Licensing Department in Fujairah is located at Al Hail road, opposite the Fujairah National Driving Institute. Their offices are open from 7.30am until 2.30pm.
Motorists need to head to the traffic fines section where they can pay in cash. No other methods of payment are available.
There is a cash machine just outside the building but motorists are advised to bring the exact amount of cash.
Alternatively, fines incurred in Fujairah can also be paid online through the Abu Dhabi police website, www.adpolice.gov.ae, and Dubai police website, www.dubaipolice.gov.ae.
The bilingual website can search for fines through the Traffic ID, plate number or licence number.
Fujairah Police have a website but only the Arabic section is currently available and the section for traffic fine enquiries is inoperative.
Motorists can also pay through the 24-hour Unified Traffic System by calling 8003333 and following instructions. This method allows for credit card payments. Fujairah has no areas subjected to parking charges. So motorists are unlikely to receive parking fines, unless they violate federal parking rules such as parking in no parking zones or parking in an unsafe manner.
There is plenty of parking space, so motorists will have no reason to break the law by parking illegally.
Both static and mobile speed cameras are used across the emirate of Fujairah. Speed limits range from 60km/h in residential areas to 100km/h on main roads.
Motorists are advised to closely monitor speed limit signs for a safe drive and to avoid incurring a speeding fine. The same applies for the towns of Kalba and Khor Fakkan, both of which are enclaves of the emirate of Sharjah but close to Fujairah city. Traffic fines incurred there could be paid in Sharjah, but not in the Fujairah traffic and licence department. How to pay
