Sharjah: If you are a keen recycler and live in Dubai or Sharjah, you might be in line to win a trip to the Maldives.
Here’s how to take part: First, install the app of Bee’ah, a Sharjah-based recycling firm, and create an account.
Then, find one of Bee’ah’s five Reverse Vending Machines dotted around Sharjah and Dubai and throw your old plastic bottles and cans inside.
Shortly afterwards, you’ll receive a receipt code from the machine that must be scanned in using the Bee’ah app.
This will automatically enter you into this month’s draw. As well as the Maldives trip, there will also be other prizes up for grabs, organisers say.
The ongoing competition is part of efforts by Bee’ah which was established a decade ago by the Sharjah government to instill a culture of recycling waste. Bee’ah is looking forward to extending the programme across the UAE and the region.
“We pride ourselves in proactively promoting community development in exciting ways and producing tangible results,” said Khalid Al Huraimel, the Group CEO of Bee’ah.
“This programme is a statement of intent that Bee’ah will continue to have a positive impact on the environment as well as the public sphere.”
The lucky recyclers from March included Sahin M.D. Jalal, who won a trip for two to Paris; Edwardo Mangalus Alcaide, who won an iPhone; and Abu Bakr Nasir Butt, who won a Nespresso machine. Leanora Dehonor Ballers and Asanka Daransana Attanayaka both won ‘At The Top’ tickets for the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.
