Dubai: Indian weddings are very grand occasions that are a feast to the eyes and if you haven’t witnessed one, here’s your chance.

Mock Indian weddings at Al Marmoom Heritage Village are giving visitors an opportunity to witness the colourful and pomp Indian culture.

The mock weddings are part of the multicultural events being organised at Al Marmoom Heritage Village off Dubai-Al Ain Road. They feature the traditional Hindu weddings and the customs associated with it.

Indian weddings, on average, run for three days in some communities but can extend to a week. They involve intricate ceremonies and sumptuous meals.

Visitors get to witness customs such as the mehendi or the common form of adornment for brides using henna and the arrival of the groom, which is marked by a procession including dancers and music.

The Village has so far attracted over 9,000 visitors since its opening and is expected to attract more until April 18 when it officially closes.

Shuttle buses are available for visitors from The Dubai Mall to the venue at frequent intervals.
