Dubai: The 14th edition of the Arab Media Forum (AMF) will take place on May 12-13 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai under the theme ‘New perspectives’, the AMF’s organising committee has announced.
The forum, deemed the most prestigious annual media event in the Arab World, is organised by Dubai Press Club under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
This year’s theme and agenda will highlight and analyse new trends in the Arab and international media, with trends related to innovation being one of the main focuses.
Mona Ganem Al Merri, Chairperson of the AMF Organising Committee and President of Dubai Press Club, pointed out that the forum’s prime objective remains empowering Arab media and triggering positive impact on its future. “Since its inception in 2001, AMF has been an open platform for discussions about regional media challenges and opportunities as we believe that open dialogue is the start line for any development efforts.”
Mona said that the 2015 AMF agenda will tackle Arab media from different perspectives, and will also host speakers and guests from international media, as part of looking at the various perspectives of media, especially as the forum is a platform which has generated new ideas and inspired the Arab media community over the years. Mona asserted that the forum will focus on positivity and optimism.
Mona also indicated that AMF is an ideal window to exhibit successful international experiences and media modernisation efforts and will also examine the latest trends in the industry and the iconic technologies that contributed in developing media through innovation and creativity.
