Abu Dhabi: The Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC) on Monday approved the UAE Emiratisation Award project.

The approval came during the council’s meeting chaired by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chairman of EHRC. The project was presented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and consists of four categories that were specified based on the number of employees in establishments, and these include, large, medium and small establishments and start-ups.

Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that the award is a part of the policies and initiatives of the ministry’s strategic plans that aim to bolster the participation of national human resources in the private sector, and training and qualifying them for available job opportunities.

Ghobash added that the award’s goal also consist of boosting the participation of the private sector in achieving relevant indicators of the National Agenda, and encouraging them to provide a work environment that attracts national human resources. The award will also help promoting a culture of excellence and positive competitive spirit between different the private sector’s establishments.

Ghobash pointed out that the General Secretariat and technical committees of the award will be set up, a move that is in line with the ministry’s keenness for transparency and neutrality.

Meanwhile, Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, highlighted before the council the role and specialisations of non-profit educational institutions, as the role of the board of trustees and licensing requirements for these institutions.

The meeting was attended by a number of minsters and officials.
