Dubai: The working hours for private sector employees in the UAE will be reduced by two during Ramadan, according to a circular issued on Monday by Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The circular was implemented according to Article No. 65 of Federal Labour Law No. 8 of 1980 regarding work relations.

On the occasion of Ramadan, Ghobash congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
Regarding the public sector, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) on Sunday had earlier announced that employees will work from 9am to 2pm during Ramadan.

The circular was issued as per Cabinet decision No.13 of 2012 in implementation of Federal Law No.11 of 2008 and its amendments.

In the statement made by FAHR on its twitter account, the government authority offered sincere greetings on the occasion of Ramadan to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in addition to members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, the UAE citizens and residents, as well as to all Islamic countries.
