Dubai: A meeting in which all segments of Emirati society were represented was held yesterday (Wednesday) for the launch of activities, initiatives and programmes to celebrate the 45th UAE National Day.
Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, who took part in the meeting, stressed that National Day celebrations reflect the pride we have in our nation and its achievements, and expresses our love for the UAE.
Shaikh Nahyan said that the celebrations also reflect our pride in our values and principles, the UAE leadership, government and people, in addition to our pride in our achievements that present a unique civilised model of tolerance, coexistence, development and urbanisation.
The meeting held in Dubai was organised by the ministry and was attended by members of the Higher Organising Committee for the 45th UAE National Celebrations, Arab and foreign ambassadors, music bands, heads of UAE media institutions, members of the UAE youth councils and other officials.
Addressing those in attendance, Shaikh Nahyan said: “Your presence in this important meeting serves as strong evidence regarding the characteristics of this nation’s march that ensures widespread participation in all community events. This reaffirms our national identity and the growing role played by our country on a regional and international level.”
“On every National Day, we are flooded with honourable memories that make us proud of the role played by the founder of the UAE, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We are reminded of all that he has given to this nation and what he has built. He led the UAE towards development and growth. As we prepare to celebrate our National Day, we are also expressing our pride in the wise leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” said Shaikh Nahyan.
Shaikh Nahyan extended his congratulations and gratitude to the UAE’s wise leadership, expressing his appreciation for their leading and important role in continuously achieving more progress and prosperity for the UAE.
He thanked those in attendance for their contributions, and said that he is looking forward to this year’s National Day celebration that will feature the highest levels of creativity.
