Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir at Al Bahr Palace.

Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was present.

During the meeting, they spoke about bilateral relations and cooperation in various areas such as politics, economy and development, as well as ways to further bolster cooperation in these fields.

Shaikh Mohammad and Al Bashir also discussed issues of mutual concern, and recent regional and international developments. The talks touched on challenges facing the region, particularly extremism, terrorism and regional interventions that aim to disrupt the region’s security and stability and undermine the development process.

They discussed the most effective ways to combat terrorist organisations and dry up their sources of financing and support.

The meeting was attended by a number of Emirati and Sudanese officials.
