Fujairah: His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered funeral prayers for Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah, at Shaikh Zayed Mosque on Thursday.

Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif died on Wednesday.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman; Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; and Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, also offered prayers.
The prayer was also performed by other shaikhs, senior officials and dignitaries.
Following the prayers, the Fujairah Ruler accompanied by shaikhs, ministers, senior officials, citizens and expatriates headed to the Fujairah cemetery where Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif ‘s body was buried.
The Fujairah Ruler will receive condolences at Al Rumailah Palace for three days.
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Presidential Affairs mourned the death of Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif.
In a statement, the ministry said that President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourned Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif’s death, praying to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace.
The ministry announced a three-day mourning period in the country, during which the UAE national flag will be flown at half-mast.
The Fujairah Ruler’s Court, Ajman Ruler’s Court and Umm Al Quwain Ruler’s Court also mourned Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif’s death.
Earlier on Thursday, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the Fujairah Ruler received a phone call from King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia, during which King Salman expressed his condolences over the death of Shaikh Hamad Bin Saif and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace and grant his family patience and solace.
