Abu Dhabi: Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, FNC Speaker, vowed that the council will work diligently to complete legislation necessary to effectively fight violence and terrorism.

“We, at all levels, need to work together to ensure legislative and executive systems are completed and social support built to fight extremism and terrorism,” Al Qubaisi said.

The government alone cannot address challenges of the future and therefore the people have to partner with it towards achieving this goal, she said.

She affirmed that “all of us need to work closely and cooperate with the government to deal with the changes that surround us, and new challenges for our state and the entire world”.

The strategic plan depends on strengthening cooperation and coordination between government bodies, and supporting efforts aiming to achieve the UAE’s general policies and national vision, as well as bolstering social cohesion. The strategy aims to support the engagement of citizens in FNC activities, express their ideas about national issues and develop the legislative and control performance of the FNC.

Al Qubaisi praised the UAE Armed Forces’ acts of heroism, embodied in their national achievements.

The FNC Speaker saluted UAE martyrs — heroes who had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, defending the sovereignty and stability of the nation and the entire region.

Al Qubaisi said sacrifices of the Emirati martyrs have not only made the nation proud, but also helped to alleviate injustice, “especially in the case of our heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice in support of the Yemeni people’s struggle to regain their country”.

“The recent Cabinet reshuffle, approved by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and announced by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, after consulting with his brother His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is a clear indication of our nation’s will to become a beacon of the future,” she said.

“The launch of the UAE Artificial Intelligence strategy represents an elevation in performance in both the government and private sectors, while the Mars Scientific City project is further proof of the UAE’s pioneering role and its adamant stand to be at the forefront of the global technological race,” Al Qubaisi said.

She added these steps will build brighter future for the coming generations, as the country approaches the UAE Centennial. “The UAE is laying the foundation for the future, and participating in shaping it, by investing in the sciences and advanced technology.”
