Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, awarded the distinguished employees and departments at the 16th Dubai Government Excellence Programme
“In this gathering I can sense the positive energy,” said Shaikh Mohammad, speaking at the award ceremony. More than 60 government employees and government departments were awarded in 18 categories yesterday at the Dubai World Trade Centre for their distinguished contribution to society, and for their outstanding dedication to their line of work.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, affirmed that all the unsung heroes have now been recognised for their hard work and determination in their respective fields.
“Your Excellency, you have always taught us as a leader about the importance of innovation and excellence in our work, and to support and tell others ‘thank you.’ Today, I am thanking the unsung heroes who made this city different with their contribution. They are not unsung any more, and we are recognising them and have named them,” said Shaikh Hamdan.
The Dubai Government Excellence Programme Award recognises and rewards exceptional government employees, departments and initiatives. As many as 26 public institutions from the emirate competed for the prestigious awards this year, and registered 415 nominees for the awards.
Dubai Police bagged the most number of awards yesterday, with seven trophies, for achieving the highest customer satisfaction rate at 90.2 per cent, and having the highest results in employee satisfaction among government departments at 83.3 per cent.
Other categories won by Dubai Police included having the highest number of outstanding employees, who were able to strengthen and promote a culture of excellence across all managerial levels, and who were the most committed to promoting the national identity.
Dubai Police were also awarded for its commitment in adopting the English language in all its initiatives and activities, to educate the general public.
The 18 categories included compulsory ones such as the “excellent government entity,” and optional ones including excellent work team, excellent technical project, and excellent government project.
The award for Distinguished Technical Employee went to Khorbash Mubarak Khorbash from the Dubai Aviation Engineering projects, Distinguished Administration Employee award went to Shaikh Mohammad Abdullah Al Mualla from Dubai Police, and Distinguished Female Employee award was won by Fatima Al Hashemi, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects.
The Distinguished New Employee award went to Hamad Jasem Rajab from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Distinguished Field Employee went to Ahmad Sadeeq Al Beloushi, Dubai Customs.
Other government employees who were distinguished for their outstanding contribution included Shaikha Hassan Bin Sanqoor from Dubai Police, and Hussain Hassan Khansaheb from the Roads and Transport Authority, who both won Distinguished Specialised Employees.
