Dubai: Winners of the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Smart Government Award 2015 were honoured yesterday (Wednesday) during the annual ceremony held at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The winners of the third edition of the award were honoured by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. During the ceremony, Shaikh Ahmad launched “5D”, the first smart interactive platform, which allows customers to post their positive experiences with Dubai government.

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing won an award after it received the highest votes from members of the public. The vote was launched in November and included 12 Dubai government initiatives.

The winners of the City Builders Race, which was launched last year by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, were the Red team, represented by Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The team was honoured for their services in the field of electricity and water, and no objection certificate issuance services. The yellow was honoured for their social care services, and the team was comprised of Community Development Authority, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Courts and Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.

RTA was honoured with the ‘No. 1 Award’ for their bus services and ‘best new government service’ for the Dubai Tram.

DTCM won in the ‘best pioneering government service’ for their e-ticket service. The apps of Dubai Police, RTA, Dubai Health Authority and Dewa won in the category of ‘best government service offered through cellphones’.

The RTA’s Al Barsha service centre won in the category of best customer service centre, while the Muraqabat Police Station of Dubai Courts and General Directorate of Dubai Police won in the category of best joint customer service centre.
