Ras Al Khaimah: A 21-year-old Emirati man succumbed his injuries when the vehicle he was driving suddenly swerved and crashed into a tree before slamming into lamp post on Monday after midnight.

The accident took place on Al Dagdaga-Airport Road in Ras Al Khaimah, according to police. 

Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director general of the central operations room at Ras Al Khaimah police, said they received a call on Monday  after midnight reporting the incident.

Police patrols and paramedics rushed to the scene, and investigations revealed that the young Emirati driver was alone when the accident occurred.

Investigators said the accident occurred due to a sudden swerve at high speed, which led the vehicle to hit a tree before hitting lamp post and overturned.

Brigadier Al Humaidi urged motorists to abide by traffic rules and speed limits on the road for their safety and the safety of others.
