Sharjah: Five people were killed, among them three children, in a car collision in Kalba on Saturday evening.
A sixth person was reported to be in critical condition. All of the victims are from the same Khor Fakkan family.
Speeding is believed to be a major factor in the accident in which the vehicle carrying the victims was cut in half by the other car involved, Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene on Khalifa Road where they found the victims’ car pressed against a concrete barrier.
The sixth passenger in the crumpled car and bodies of the deceased were transported to Al Dhaid Hospital.
