Abu Dhabi A Dh6 million award to honour outstanding teachers in GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region has been launched with a view of empowering future generations with the best education and paving the way towards a knowledge-based community.

On the occasion, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received the committee members of the award. “We will continue work to ensure the provision of quality education for our students and future generations, with the creative teacher is the main core of education. With their sacrifices and continuous contributions, teachers are able to make a difference in the lives of our students,” Shaikh Mohammad tweeted.

In another tweet, Shaikh Mohammad added: “We promise our students that we will carry on with the process of building, and we Look forward that the award will highlight noble examples of creative teachers who will become role models excellence and innovation for others.”

The region’s first of its kind award named as “The Mohammad Bin Zayed Award for the Best GCC Teacher” was launched yesterday by the Ministry of Education Hussain Ebrahim Al Hammadi.

The annual award is in line with the UAE’s approach that aims to nurture and develop new generations armed with innovation, creativity and knowledge.
