Dubai: A man in his mid-thirties was found murdered at his apartment in the Al Musallah area of Sharjah, Gulf News has learnt.

The body of the victim identified as Mohammad AM, from Pakistan was found in a black bag, under the kitchen sink of his apartment.

The victim had been missing since January 9. His wife, Kiran AM, suspected foul play when she returned home from work and found the door of her apartment damaged and open.

However, when she couldn’t reach her husband after calling on his mobile several times, she became scared and went to her friend’s home, where she stayed overnight.

The next day when Kiran returned home with her friend, they found the black bag in the kitchen and complained to the Al Gharb Police station.

A senior police official said that a police team went to the apartment and found a body tied with rope inside the bag.

Kiran identified the body as that of her husband.

She told police that a family dispute was going on between her husband, her brother, identified as Adeel AA and her ex-husband, who was also arrested by the police. She claimed the two of them had threatened to kill her husband many times.

Adeel AA was arrested at Sharjah airport trying to leave the country, while Kiran’s ex-husband was arrested at his apartment.

Adeel allegedly admitted to the crime after the police officials confronted him with the charges. He also told police the pair had planned to kill Kiran as well but couldn’t do it.

Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Al Obad, chief of Al Gharb police station, warned people to avoid family disputes and advised communities to resolve their problems amicably.

The case has been referred to public prosecution.
