Sharjah: A 36-year-old Pakistani man was arrested one hour after he allegedly stabbed his father to death, police said on Sunday.

Sharjah Police said that the operations room received a call on Sunday at 12.05am from Kalba Hospital reporting that a man had been admitted with a deep wound in his chest and his condition was critical. The man died later due to his injuries.

A team from the CID immediately rushed to the hospital and investigations revealed that the son of the victim, identified as A.Sh., was involved in a heated argument with his father at their house in Kalba.

The suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed his father in the chest and fled from the house. The father was admitted to the ICU of the hospital where he died shortly after admission.

Police tracked down the suspect and arrested him soon after and the case has been referred to the public prosecution.
