Dubai: A servant has been accused of having sex with his girlfriend inside his sponsor’s villa, choking her and throwing her partly naked body between trees beside the villa.
In May, a Pakistani guard was said to have been pruning the trees outside a neighbouring villa at Emirates Hills when he saw what he thought was a doll. According to records, the guard realised that it was the corpse of a woman on closer inspection. Police were informed about the woman’s body and a Filipino clerk, who lived in a the villa across the street, told interrogators at the crime scene that he had seen the woman entering that villa at 1.30pm.
Further on-site investigations revealed that the Nepalese woman had been having an affair with her 31-year-old countryman servant, who worked in the villa beside which her corpse had been found.
The servant was brought in for questioning and he was reportedly said to have admitted that he had sex with the victim before they quarrelled and he choked her twice to disallow his sponsor from hearing her cries when she yelled at him.
Prosecutors accused the 31-year-old suspect of intentionally killing his girlfriend and having sex with her.
According to the charges, prosecutors said the suspect choked the victim and pushed her in the washroom where she hit her head on the sink and went unconscious. Then he carried her body to the bed and went back to his work before he later realised that she had died.
“I only had sex with her … I did not kill her,” the suspect contended before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday.
“Then how did she die?” presiding judge Fahd Al Shamsi asked the Nepalese suspect.
“I don’t know. After we had sex, she left the room and fell down on her own. I didn’t touch her,” he replied.
The Pakistani guard claimed to prosecutors: “When I first saw a woman in an underwear facedown, I thought it must be a plastic doll. When I touched the cheek with my fingers, I recognised that it was a dead woman’s body. Policemen who arrived at that the scene also thought in the beginning that it was a doll.”
The Filipino clerk testified to prosecutors that he had seen the woman in a miniskirt when she walked in to the villa.
A police sergeant claimed to prosecutors that the suspect was apprehended in Al Barsha.
“During questioning, he admitted that she was his girlfriend and they had been having an affair. On that day she called him to come out, claimed the suspect, and help smuggle her into his bedroom without being noticed by his sponsor. The suspect claimed that they had lunch and had sex but when he finished and wanted to go back to his work, they had a heated argument because she wanted him to stay with her for more time. He alleged that they quarrelled and when she started shouting, he choked her from the neck for a few minutes to hush her … when he freed his hands, she shouted again and he choked her again. Then he alleged that he pulled her into the washroom and pushed her … she tripped and banged her head to the sink and dropped unconscious. He then claimed that he put her on the bed and went out to finish his work … when he realised later that she had died, he threw her body over the villa wall,” he testified to prosecutors.
Presiding judge Al Shamsi said the court will appoint a lawyer to defend the suspect when it reconvenes on November 5.
