Abu Dhabi: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation (KBZF) inaugurated the Shaikh Zayed Medical Diagnostic Centre in Novi Pazar, Serbia.
The centre occupies an area of 1,400 square metres and is equipped with advanced medical equipment.
The inauguration of the centre coincides with the 13 anniversary of the passing of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is in line with President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan declaring 2017 as the Year of Giving.
The inauguration was attended by Zlatibor Loncar, Serbia’s minister of health, and Ebrahim Al Darmaki, acting charge d’affaires at the UAE Embassy in Belgrade, and other officials.
Loncar expressed his heartfelt thanks to the UAE and its generous leadership, as well as KBZF for the assistance extended to the local medical sector. He added that the centre will immensely help with improving medical services provided to residents of Novi Pazar and the city’s neighbouring areas.
The project’s progress to the completion stage was monitored by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Medical Diagnostic in Novi Pazar is considered the most advanced medical centre of its kind in the Serbian city. It includes advanced medical equipment to increase the efficiency of patient treatment.
The medical centre is equipped with the latest and most advanced medical tools for magnetic resonance imaging, echocardiography, besides digital x-rays, and mammography and biochemistry laboratories.
The Serian minister said that the donation is the largest of its kind to the city’s health-care services. He also expressed his appreciation to the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the gesture of support for the health-care sector in Serbia.
