The Tunisian Religious Affairs minister Abu Bakr Al Akhzouri has stated that the decision was taken so that to ensure the safety of the Tunisian population and does not stand against the decisions taken by the Tunisian religious authorities.
Al Akhzouri further stated that certain medical checks will be carried out amongst those who are planning to go to Haj.
The Tunisian government applied restrictions on travelers to and from Makkah and Madinah following a woman being diagnosed with swine flu after she arrived from Saudi Arabia.
