Syria's Health Ministry has confirmed the country's first case of swine flu.
Damascus: Syria's Health Ministry has confirmed the country's first case of swine flu.
The ministry says an Australian woman of Syrian origin arrived in the country five days ago on a flight from Australia and tested positive for swine flu on Thursday.
Saturday's statement says members of the woman's family were tested and that all passengers on the same flight will also be tested. The woman flew via Dubai.
According to the latest report on Friday from the UN's World Health Organisation, there have been 89,921 swine flu cases worldwide and 382 deaths.
