Syria lacks capability for nuclear facility, says IAEA
The United Nations nuclear watchdog chief said the agency had no evidence Syria had the skill or the fuel to operate a large-scale nuclear facility.
Duabi: The United Nations nuclear watchdog chief said the agency had no evidence Syria had the skill or the fuel to operate a large-scale nuclear facility.
"We have no evidence that Syria has the human resources that would allow it to carry our a large nuclear programme we did not see Syria having nuclear fuel..." Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohammad Al Baradei told Al Arabiya television which aired the remarks on Tuesday.
Israel in September bombed what the United States said was a nuclear site in Syria, which said the site was a military facility under construction.
